Welcome!
I am so excited to start my 14th year here at Rio del Mar teaching first grade in Room 6. It is going to be another fabulous year and I can't wait to meet everyone on Monday.
Welcome to my Room 6 blog too!  My hope is that by reading this blog each week, you will get a peak into the upcoming fun and learning that will be happening. We love sharing what's going on and this is our way to do so since you all can't be here with us!
We will start off the school year with the Humpty Dumpty poem which will help us learn how to be safe, follow rules and make good choices while here at school. We will also enjoy The Cat Sat, our first story in our Houghton Mifflin reading series. This story will help us with the concept of beginning, middle and end in a story. In math, we will work with patterns, counting to 100 and writing numbers the first grade way. Ask your child about how to write our first grade "purple green" first grade number and learn for yourself.
Please look for the very important information packet from the office your child is bringing home. There are many forms to be filled out and returned.
Also please read our First Grade Information Sheet which will answer many of your questions about first grade procedures.
Looking forward to a great school year,
Mrs. Robinson
